The best overnight oats recipe

I am not lying when I say I spent more than 6 months trying to figure out the perfect ratios for overnight oats. I loved the concept of an easy, nourishing & prepped breakfast but I kept ending up with cement-like oats or slimy watered-down oats. BUT I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT RATIOS. I usually make a few of these at a time and store them in the fridge for a quick and easy breakfast throughout the week!

Recipe for 1 serving:

  • 1/2 cup of organic oats (I use the brand One Degree because they are sprouted which are easier to digest and absorb nutrients from!)

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (I prefer Malk’s or homemade oat milk)

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter (or any nut butter!)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • Toppings of your choice — I usually always do mini wild frozen blueberries but also have been loving adding in some chocolate chips, banana slices or even some toasted pecans!)

Directions:

  1. Mix together oats, chia seeds, and milk in a jar or Tupperware. Make sure to stir as soon as you add in the milk, otherwise the chia seeds will start to form clumps.

  2. After stirring, add in peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla & cinnamon and stir again.

  3. Store in refrigerator for at least 12 hours before eating. I have found they keep for up to 5 days!

  4. When I am ready to eat it, I add my toppings and enjoy! :)
